As a Photoshop editing exercise, I designed a photo manipulation composite consisting of four images to create a magazine cover for Photoshop User.
/01 CHALLENGE
Envisioning the perfect composite scene for the cover.
The story behind the composite highlights an astronaut encountering a celestial orb inside of a spacecraft.
Feelings of mystery and wonder are evoked through the use of a dark atmosphere and contrasting glow effects. Space particles float around the scene sparingly to further the mysterious tone and compliment the astronaut’s daring presence.
/02 CREATIVE STRATEGY
Collecting and editing the stock photography.
Four unique stock photographs were compiled to create the composite: a galaxy background, a space shuttle, a yellow starburst orb, and an astronaut.
After masking, colour grading, and adding multiple adjustment layers and filters the composite was brought to life. View the original four stock image components below.
